What is an AcuBall?
An Acuball is a patented heatable massage and acupressure ball designed by Canadian chiropractor Dr. Mark Cohen. The Acuball works passively by using your own body weight to apply pressure, in order to eliminate the need for strenuous rolling. It has small raised acupoints and can be microwaved for one minute to provide up to an hour of soothing deep tissue heat.
Also known as Acupressure balls, they have gained popularity as a simple and accessible tool for self care. The small portable devices offer a range of benefits, from relieving muscle tension to promoting relaxation and stimulating vital energy points.
Dr. Cohen has been to over 40 countries and studied native healing techniques, while doing so he came to the conclusion that we are underestimating the patients ability to practice self healing. He began to experiment and discovered that his athletic patients used tennis balls with their trainers to help relieve pain or discomfort, he then started to do the same with his patients. After 5 years of using tennis balls he realized that he couldn’t work on the spine. He decided that he would create a tool to help with self healing that would allow patients to reach the spine, stay more stationary and a tool that could be heated up. After 10 years and 82 tries he created the Acuball.

How does it work?
The Acuball relieves muscle and joint pain using a combination of acupressure, deep tissue massage, and penetrating heat. By using your body weight to roll over the ball, its built-in acupressure nubs and recessed center groove work to stimulate blood flow, flush out muscle toxins, and calm the central nervous system.
Heat therapy: The Acuball can be heated to provide up to an hour of soothing, penetrating warmth. This heat helps tight connective tissues, muscles, and ligaments relax more effectively.
Acupressure and massage: The raised nibs on its surface stimulate your central nervous system, prompting the release of natural painkilling chemicals like endorphins.
Spine align belt: The recessed groove running down the center of the ball is specifically designed to fit under your spine. This ensures pressure is applied to the supportive muscles on either side without putting direct, uncomfortable pressure onto your spinal bones.
Body weight driven: You control the intensity. By simply lying or leaning against the ball and using your body weight, you can target trigger points in your neck, back, hips, shoulders, and feet.
