Clinic procedure for new patients
Our Clinic procedure for New Patients is generally comprised of a two day process. This procedure ensures that Dr. Barbara Rodwin knows everything about your case history, and it also allows for you to become more familiar with chiropractic.
CHIROPRACTIC FORM- please return forms to office 24hours before first appointment
|
Day 1: Exam Duration - 30 minutes |
We will perform a comprehensive exam to check joint movement, muscle function, and range of motion to identify specific problem areas. This is a muscle, skeletal, biomechanical, and neurological exam. The first part of the exam will be performed by Keri-Lyn, our Kinesiologist. Part of this may be a foot scan/gait analysis using computer technology to identify any problems relating to your feet, which may relate to the biomechanics of your body. Then Dr. Barbara Rodwin will complete the exam. Please arrive 5 minutes early for your exam. We have specific time slots allotted for exams. If you are late, we will either have to re-schedule your appointment or Dr. Rodwin will only be able to perform a portion of your exam. |
|
Day 2: Report of Findings Duration - 30-45 minutes |
Dr. Barbara Rodwin and Keri-Lyn will be reviewing your exam findings. They will prepare a written report detailing the results. Keri-Lyn will be reviewing this with you. Any recommendations will be made to aid in treating your condition. After Keri-Lyn has reviewed this, you will be seeing Dr. Rodwin for treatment. |
ORTHOTICS
Our clinic procedure for New Patients is generally comprised of a one day consultation. Before your first visit you will be asked to fill out a form to allow Keri-Lyn, our Kinesiologist, time to review your file to ensure she knows everything about your condition. The consultation entails a computerized footscan, gait analysis and report of findings. During this consultation a shoe analysis/check and assessment of existing orthotics will be performed to ensure a proper fit. If new orthotics are warranted a discussion and heel lift assessment will be performed. At this time a stretching and/or a strengthening program may be given to aid in the solution of the
complaint.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Our clinic procedure for New Patients is generally comprised of an assesment period at the beginning of your first appointment. This assessment will allow the Massage Therapists time to review your case history, perform any required tests and ask any questions before treatment begins. Every new patient is asked to fill out a form and return it to the office at least 10 minutes before your first visit. This will ensure that your appointment will start on time.
