About Kinesiology
|
|
Human Kinetics or Kinesiology is the study of the body in motion.
A Kinesiologist is a professional who assesses human movement, performance and function by applying the sciences of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology and even psychomotor behavior.
For example, a Kinesiologist would assess how the foundation of the body, the feet, could cause some alignment problems at the knee, and how the knee problem could affect the hip etc. The assessment would also take in to consideration the activities the person is involved with, whether they are high impact or not etc.
Kinesiologists are also involved in the rehabilitation, prevention and management of disorders to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement, performance or function in the areas of sport, recreation, work, and exercise.
