"Pinched Nerves"/Numbness, tingling and pain
Numbness and tingling can arise from a variety of conditions including spinal misalignment, osteoarthritis, disc herniations, and muscle spasms. All of these conditions involve nerve irritation or compression which gives that "pins and needles" feeling.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic adjustments help to relieve tension, and compression on spinal nerves by realigning the vertebral column. The spinal nerves become irritated as they exit the spine due to vertebral misalignments caused by poor posture, unnatural sleeping postures, accidents, stress, degeneration etc. Adjunctive therapies include interferential current, trigger point therapy, ice, and stretching and strengthening exercises.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy increases range of motion, circulation and aids in tissue drainage. Additionally, massage promotes tissue health and prevents the contracture of surrounding muscles which may be preventing bones from "sitting' in the proper place, resulting in the nerve irritation.
